Hi all. This something that happened to me a couple of days ago. I was using my braille note and did something that caused a application error. So I turned my braille note off and turned it back on only to find that the braille displayand aspeech wouldn't work. So I'm sitting there thinking oh shit. So I reset the dam thing and itgot stuck on keysoft version and wouldn't go to the main menu. So I said oh what the hell I'm doing a service reset on this bastard of a braille note! Now you tech peoplle should be screaming. I did a service rset without supervision. The braille note worked just perfect until I tried to open the planner. It locked up and refused to work. So I angryly called human ware and they were able to twell me how to fix the problem. Anybody ever do something so messed up as that?

um i had my braillenote on a table, and my cousins and I were doing homework, and my aunt jumped up thinking my brother was choking and spilled a whole glass of diet coke on mine, and it cost $1800.00 to fix.

I got a pack mate and it works fine, except for the little problem that the equal key popped off and one of the buttens on the brail display kind of isn't there. and I totally forgot to charge it and it reset to the factory defualt on me. good thing there was nothing on there.

My old BrailLite, well that was another matter. I had a bunch of for's on it and no matter what I did they wouldn't go away. then i spent six hours on the phone trying to get it working again!! I missed a whole day of school because of the stupid thing!! I was in school mind you just not in class. I was in the office with my vision teacher which is more like a closet than an actual office!!.

I have a few braille lite and pac mate stories. I remember one time that my braille lite was malfunctioning so bad that It was saying 0 0 ff error. It wasn't really saying it, but singing it! I tried turning it off, but the darn thing wouldn't switch off. Well, I called tech support, and got the whole thing straightened out. I know something you should never do with a pac mate. It all started when my pacmate was running out of room for my files. It didn't have enough memory. So, I go to the windows folder, and delete all the files I could. It so happened that I deleted some jaws settings files in the process. Well, I turn the pac mate back on, and I got the message, unknown function, new text event. That's all it would say. The next day, I did a cold reset and it worked fine. My advice is, under any circumstances, do, not, delete files from the windows directory!

Thanks to the last poster, I am hopefully getting an m-power soon, and am going to have to transfer the important documents over. What a joy that wil be. I've had good luck with my braille note classic for a while, but its time to upgrade.

Shawn, a braille note empower is a good choice! I have two friends who have one, and from what they say, it works great! Good luck with that.

Wait? You've never used a braille note but yet you're telling me that it's a great product?

Correction, I never had a braille note, but I used my friends in order for me to teach her how to use it. It was so easy, that after never even seeing a braille note, I was able to create a document and set the clock in less than an hour.

Download87 I remember you tellimg me that story when we met at the carroll center. Although I don't want to think about scynthesized voices singing. I get enough laughs by just going to the Decktalk stuff!

Less than an hour? Wow! I could figure out a braille note in five minutes. Just press space, next, enter, backspace, space with h.

The braillenote I've had has served me well through out my 7 years. I've dropped it, ate over it, upgraded it and all the other things I have forgotten to mention. This thing has been through hell and back but has never failed me and always has worked. Humanware tech support are by far the nicest people on the face of the earth I remember sitting on the phone talking to the sweetest tech support girls for at least an hour talking about anything. Freedom science fiction never comes close. the speech quality and tech support are terrible.

One day, Iwas reading keysoft upgrading instructions just to pass the time. Upgrading seemed like an easy process. I've read and memorized a whole braille note manual, and I recommend it to anyone needing a note taker! The pac mate's Ok, but it's very unstable.
